If you’re feeling nostalgic…

Modernist 60’s weekend

The annual ‘Mod Weekend’ invites nostalgic motorists to re-visit their spiritual home of Brighton seafront, 52 years after their infamous clash with the rockers, with many riders dressing up in their finest mod gear for the occassion.

The gathering has been organised by New Untouchables for the last 12 years, and features evening events at Komedia and both daytime and evening events at Volks Tavern. Volks Tavern is 200
yards east of the pier, and is where the scooters arrive in the iconic film Quadrophenia! The afternoon events at Volks Tavern are both free and family friendly, including live bands on the Saturday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon the eagerly anticipated scooter competition is held outside between 2-3pm followed by a cruise to the Smugglers Rest in Peacehaven. For those just wishing to spectate, simply walking around the seafront and lanes will ensure you run into an exciting blast from the past!

Many of the pieces would make ideal gifts or decorative accessories around the home or for use in the garden. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to the crafts people about their work and, of course, enjoy the summer colours in Pashley’s 11 acre gardens.

Notting Hill Carnival
