Our energetic Friday-Ad runners clocked up hundreds of miles last Sunday (April 17th), taking part in the Brighton Marathon and 10k races. Helped along by beautiful sunshine and enthusiastic crowds, everyone who took part completed their personal challenge, and raised lots of money for our chosen charity the St Peter & St James Hospice. Well done to everyone for going the distance!
The atmosphere at the seventh Brighton Marathon couldn’t have been better with dry conditions, an upbeat samba band to set the scene, and our very own Friday Media Group support station on Hove seafront, provided by Group Managing Director Sam Kidger, where staff enjoyed music and refreshments while cheering on the athletes. Organisers estimated that crowds easily exceeded the event’s usual 150,000 people, and we’d agree with that!
As is customary, there were eye-catching costumes spotted along the course – a rhino, superman, spiderman and a giant heart. Our runners looked bright and breezy in their sunflower-emblazoned vests provided by St Peter & St James. Here are a few action shots from the day:
