Thank you for entering our ‘Valentines’ competition. There can only be one winner and the time has come to reveal the lucky pair who will win a date night on us.

With so many heartwarming stories, it made it incredibly difficult to decide. But we thought this entry was a funny but lovely example of how to keep spirits high and the ‘love alive’ during lockdown.

THE WINNER IS… Mel!

Lockdown can’t beat Mel and Paul having special date nights together so here’s another one on us!

Congratulations!

“Dressing up for a romantic night in…. 💕 we may be in lockdown but lockdown can’t beat us enjoying a special night in together. “I’m Hopelessly Devoted” to @paulcrumpton11 and he’s still “The One That I want” after 35 years #lovefeelgood”

Thank you to everyone that entered. It definitely helped to spread some love across the community!

Here were some of our favourites – you definitely helped to spread the love…

1. “She sits like this most evenings, my husband says she is holding my hand”

“My daughter spreads her love everyday”

3. “My son doesn’t normally express his feelings well @thefridayad but he wrote me a lovely message in my birthday card which made me feel the love! “

4.  “What made me feel the love recently was the act of a complete stranger. I was picking up a few bits and when I got to the checkout my card refused to work. I was getting pretty stressed (it had been a bad day!) and was irritated I didn’t have £5.00 on me. The gentleman behind me stepped in and insisted on paying. Almost made me cry! In any small way you can, spread the love! ❤️ @saralock422”

5. “I think it would have to be this picture of my two little ones that gives me all the feels! Honestly they make my heart burst on a daily BUT they have been so strong and so amazing through all of this pandemic. Taking home learning in their stride, taking lockdown in their stride, cancelled holidays and missing their friends but they still find time for each other. This picture just captures a moment of calm, of peace, of time where we didnt have to think about the pandemic or stress or sadness, just having each other and enjoying the moment” 🙂
