The Now! Charity and Friday-Ad partnership announcement is both powerful and relevant of our times. In the UK over 10 million household furniture items are sent to landfill every year, with at least 30% immediately able to be reused. Through sustainable sourcing and redistribution, efforts can be made to positively benefit local communities and contribute towards a reduction of Sussex’s carbon footprint.
Now! and Friday-Ad’s scope shall include the opportunity for users who list Household Goods via the Friday-Ad, online or in print, to donate their items via Furniture Now’s free household collection service.
Additionally, the Friday-Ad is set to become Furniture Now’s official online sales partner, with an exciting array of high-quality, affordable new and second-hand furniture and electricals made available for purchase via Furniture Now’s newly introduced online shop.
Michael Ryan, CEO, Now! Charity Group said “In the Now! Charity and Friday-Ad we have two organisations which represent the very best of Sussex heartland. It is clear that the Friday Media Group share our values of encouraging a sustainable living culture within an effective circular economy and we are delighted to be working alongside their team to achieve tremendous impact for our county and its people.”
Multiple lives set to be impacted in multiple ways, a highly resourceful approach with a chain of value creating far reaching ripples of social, environmental and financial impact.
The journey triggered by a single piece of essential household furniture.
Tinka Carrick, Marketing Manager, Friday-Ad commented, “At the Friday-Ad, we’re big on community. We have an engaged audience of people looking, amongst other things, to find a new home for their unused furniture. Our partnership with the Now! Charity will enable and encourage our users to donate unwanted furniture and household items to be re-loved and improve the lives of others in their community.”
The partnership was brought to live by the Friday Media Group Foundation, which aims to unite people and partners with charities and causes to help create a better world through the power of good business. “By stepping forward and contributing our time, resources, skills and ideas, we can make a difference to the lives of others. We’re looking forward to supporting the Now! Charity Group in the coming months, and encourage everyone to consider the option of donating any unused furniture and household items to their amazing cause,” said Rob Hancock from the Friday Media Group Foundation.
