Valentines Day is just around the corner

Valentines Day is just around the cornerSo Valentines Day is steadily approaching so it is time to get your plans sorted. You don’t want to leave it until the last minute and end up missing out on a table at your favourite restaurant. Some people find it hard to come up with ideas for what to do on V Day and where others are simply natural romantics, but here are few ideas which could be helpful to you.

Cook our partner a meal
Loads of people head out to restaurants for a lovely lavish meal on Valentines Day. This is a great way to treat your loved one, however, you could impress them even more by cooking them a splendid meal at home. Decorate the dining room table until it resembles a romantic restaurant and then get cooking. Trust me, if you can cook up a three-course meal from scratch and buy a lovely bottle of wine, then your partner and you will have one of the loveliest valentines days ever.

City Break
If you have the money and you have the time, then why not take your partner away on a mini holiday or city break? Spend a couple nights in a nice hotel and see the sights during the day. There really are plenty of things for you to do during your break to ensure you have the perfect Valentines Day. You could go for a stroll through Hyde Park or depending on where you are, you could even go for dinner on a river boat.

Something different
Now, there is no reason why you can’t go and have fun doing something completely different on Valentines Day. I have some friends who went bungee jumping one year and go-karting the next. There are plenty of things out there that you can do to ensure that your Valentines Day is fun and a bit different to the usual cliches. You could go clay pigeon shooting or gather a bunch of couples together and go paintballing. Surely there will be a lot of couples out there who would love to spend Valentines Day shooting each other.

Volunteer
One great way to spend your Valentines Day is to volunteer your time to those less fortunate than you. You could go and collect for a charity or help out at your local library. Or you could organise for you to raise money by getting sponsored to do something that is related to Valentines Day. You could do a sponsored hug or even a sponsored speed dating session for singles.

If you are single then don’t worry
Valentines Day is harshly aimed at couples, so if you are single then don’t let that ruin your day. Go and spend it with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, or use the day as a chance to rekindle an old flame. Or, you could even go to the effort to ensure that your parents have a lovely Valentines Day together.
